M. Amis - Sans doute, je perds moins de temps. Autrefois je pouvais passer des heures a me heurter a un mur sans pouvoir trouver de solutions. A present je m'assois dans un fauteuil et je lis un livre. Quand au bout de quelques heures ou de quelques jours mes pieds m'emmenent d'eux-memes a mon bureau, c'est que je suis enfin pret. Les ecrivains experimentes savent comment utiliser leur energie sans la dilapider betement.

P. Mayle - Laborieux. Je recris beaucoup... je ne suis pas Simenon. Je prends mon temps... Alexandre Dumas avait calcule que s'il ne s'arretait pas pour mettre la ponctuation, il gagnerait un an et demi d'ecriture dans sa vie.....
Et plus loin: il y a un vieil oncle qui decrit mon mode de vie: "Nulle part ailleurs, on peut faire si peu de choses et y prendre autant de plaisir."
